The mouse comes with nicad batteries and a charger, but the batteries were burned out within a month. The mouse chews through akaline batteries like nobody's business. The number pad hibernates after a few minutes, and when you go to enter numbers it sticks until communication with the base is re-established, and then often enters double numbers at the beginning of a new string. Also is has a pesky tripple zero key where the zero should be; this is still giving me errors with passwords and data entry. Finally, I find the free standing numberpad creates clutter on my desk (which i was trying to get rid of by going wireless). I keep bumping into it with my mouse! That said the keyboard is marvelous alone, and works far away from the computer.
Overall I prefer the cheaper logitech slimline wireless keyboard/mouse combo. The batteries are still humming after constant use since October. My only conmpalint with this cheaper model is that it has grey letters on black keys(duh!), which are hard to see in dim light.
