(More customer reviews)I bought this product because I decided to treat my Logitech G5 to a good surface. Afterall, it is the best mouse in the world. i decided on the I-1 over the I-2 because of price. I figure the surfaces are the same, maybe the dimensions and other unimportant stuff may differ. I was not impressed with the colour selection (which is why it only got 4 stars) so i chose transparent. I was thinking maybe at some point i can customize it by placing an image beneath it. It would have been really nice if i could have gotten like a 'Crysis Limited Edition' version but no such thing exists.
I read a review of one of the I-2 and the person gave it a 2 and said the surface was making an irritating scratchy sound when the mouse passed over it. I had the same problem at first and was shocked...afterall it is glass. But i soon realised that the surface was covered with a thin film of talc-like powder...maybe it was deliberate or from the package. All i did was wipe it off and it was as smooth as a river stone rubbed against my cheek. I felt the G5 blush when i placed it on the newly cleaned surface. It glided like a ballerina on ice. Graceful.
I am not sure how much it improved over a standard mousepad but it feels really really good and you should at least buy this for the experience. It feels sturdy and profesional and it looks really good on my desk (if only i had a Crysis edition). I am pretty sure it will last a life time if i don't brake it...but if i do, i would not hesitate to buy another.
